My Dying Bride Rocks Futureworks

It was ‘heavy as hell’ at Futureworks recently, when best - selling metal band My Dying Bride spent 9 months recording their new album 'For Lies I Sire' in the school’s fantastic Neve Studio with resident producer Rob Magoolagan.

Formed in 1990, My Dying Bride is one of three bands involved in the creation of the death/doom metal genre. To date it has released several singles and video releases as well as ten studio albums.

Working in the Futureworks Neve studio, the band was able to produce the right ‘heavy - as - hell sombre doom’ sounds they wanted. Aaron Stainthorpe, lead singer of the band said: “It is rare to find a studio like the one at Futureworks, where the combined quality of the monitors and desks are so good - especially when this is partnered with the experience that Mags (Rob Magoolagan) brings to the recording”.

The Neve Studio, one of six recording studios at Futureworks, was ideal for the band as it boasts a classic Neve VR Legend mixing console, Pro Tools HD3 recording system, vintage outboard gear and a wide range of microphones, providing the professional finish that the band required.

Rob (or Mags to the band) said: “I have worked with these guys for many years in many different studios and to be able to produce the sounds we have done over the last few months just shows the quality of equipment we have been using at Futureworks on this last album”.

My Dying Bride's new album 'For Lies I Sire' is out now on Peaceville Records
