Born Of Hope:
another Tolkien fan film at Futureworks

Born of Hope is a 60 minute Lord of the Rings inspired film being produced in the UK. A low budget production, the entire cast and crew are giving their services for no financial gain. The subject matter and quality has attracted people from around the world to join the team, even gaining support and interest from some of the original New Line Trilogy cast and crew members including Richard Taylor and the Oscar® winning team at Weta Workshop, New Zealand.

Post-production tutor and former Futureworks student, Enos Desjardiin is excited to again be involved in helping to keep Middle Earth alive. As the Dubbing Mixer and Lead Sound Designer for last years highly successful fan film 'The Hunt For Gollum', which has had over 1 million views online, Enos' responsibility has increased for this new production. Acting as Sound Supervisor, in addition to Dubbing Mixer and Lead Sound Designer - Enos was able to pass along jobs such as Dialogue Editing, Sound Design, and Foley to students on the 2nd year of the Audio Engineering and Production course here at Futureworks. Enos is finishing the final mix this week in our D-Control Dubbing Cinema - using Pro Tools 8 HD3 and THX 5.1 Meridian monitoring and projection.

Futureworks involvement in the project does not end with sound. Tom Bohan, Pablo Gonzalez, and Andy McKee, all 2nd year students on the TV and Film Production course, are in charge of the Colour Grading for the release. They are using Apple's latest Final Cut Studio - utilizing a workflow between Color 1.5 and Final Cut Pro 7 on a Mac Pro with a Blackmagic Intensity Pro - allowing for full HD resolution.

Born of Hope will be released to the world on December 1st. Check out the website here and watch the trailer here
