Overview
The Music Production programme has been created to develop the practical
skills and knowledge required to work in the dynamic area of music production
and technology.
This comprehensive course combines creativity and technology, allowing students to use the recording studios and computer technologies as tools within music composition and production across a range of genres, and for a range of uses (including film, television, games, multi-platform content and of course the music industry itself).
Innovation is at the core of the course, we encourage students to develop techniques and skills that are new and challenging and ideas that encourage collaboration with other areas of the creative and digital industries.
The course will appeal to students from a variety of musical backgrounds, such as instrumentalists, vocalists and group musicians looking to broaden their knowledge and skills base alongside those with ‘non-traditional’ musical skills and experience, such as programming, sequencing, home recording, mixing, dj-ing, turntablism and non-Western music.
Access to Futureworks' sophisticated studios and production equipment allows students the freedom to develop their creative abilities into areas of personal relevance, in an environment that encourages the utmost creativity.
Your practical production work will be innovative and underpinned by the level of knowledge, analysis and evaluation expected of an honours graduate.

Included are a Neve VR Legend mixing console, SSL AWS 900, 3 Digidesign ICON suites, top-level monitoring and a range of industry specification microphones.
