TV & Film Graduate Alexandros Cuschieri is the new Creative Arts and Media Technician at Wellacre Academy
Landing Jobs and Winning Awards
TV and Film Production Graduate Alexandros Cuschieri has been hired as the Creative Arts and Media Technician at Wellacre Academy 6th form in Urmston. Wellacre is quite familiar with Futureworks as they sent their technical staff to Futureworks for certified Final Cut and Logic Pro Training in 2010.
Over the summer a position opened at Wellacre. Out of an incredible amount of applications the shortlist featured 3 Futureworks graduates with Alex taking the honours. Along with his Futureworks Diploma, Alexandros left Futureworks as an Apple Certified Pro in both Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro 7 and this has been essential in his new role.
When asked how Futureworks helped prepare him Alex said:
"The skills I learned at Futureworks helped prep me for the real world as I was able to slot straight into my job role."
"Futureworks is a great place to study for all sorts of media based jobs. If you're willing to put in the extra effort and study hard Futureworks is more than capable of giving you the skills to get into the media industry."
His tutor had this to say:
"When Wellacre approached Futureworks regarding their need for a new Creative Arts and Media Technician I straightaway thought of our 2nd year TV & Film Production students and our 3rd year VFX & Post Production students. The fact that 3 of our students made the shortlist for the position really shows that our students are learning valid real world skills that are relevant and current for today's market. I'm really excited for Alex and think he is perfect for the role." Michael Cacioppo Jr - Apple Master Trainer
In addition to gaining employment, Alex's short film "Walk The Earth" (2011) won the award for Most Original Concept at the Independent Short Film Festival Screen Stockport and the award for Best Piece of Work for 2011 in the Film & TV Department at Futureworks. The panel of judges for Screen Stockport included BBC Producer/Director Robert Murray, BBC Assistant Producer - Ciara Redman, and Director (and Futureworks' Guest Lecturer) Matt Bloom.
All the staff at Futureworks would like to congratulate Alex for his awards and wish him all the best in his new role.
